Ad Hominem

Against the person

Attacking the person instead of the argument.

Ad Hominem is a rhetorical strategy where the speaker attacks the character, motive, or some other attribute of the person making an argument rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself. In the Arena, this is a "low-tier" move that signals a lack of logical counter-points.

The Trap Example

""You can't trust his stance on climate change because he didn't even finish college.""

The Neutralizer

Redirect to the data. "My education level does not change the validity of the data presented."
