Phase 1: The Argument Phase
Building your foundation and score.
Phase 1 is the primary period of a debate. It is when debaters post their A-R-E stances and accumulate tags. The goal of Phase 1 is to maximize your "Stance Score" so that you enter Phase 2 with the highest possible momentum.
